“Lines & Light” was selected by IPA as a 2023 Award Winner in the Self-Published book category. This book also includes a two-page spread of the photograph “Projection” which was a 2023 IPA finalist in the Analog Film, Fine Art category.
Inspired by our baby boy’s fascination with my high-contrast black and white photography hanging around our home, I created this photographic board book to stimulate the eyes and minds of infants but with enough visual interest for adults too—and everyone in between.
Research has shown that newborns gravitate toward high-contrast black and white images and patterns because they can more easily focus on them as their eyesight is still developing. Therefore, providing your baby with high-contrast images is a great way to engage with them while also stimulating their optic nerve and visual center of the brain. Research has (kinda) also shown that a nice coffee table book is a great conversation starter and can inspire positive emotions—no, really!
The book begins with simple compositions and progresses to more complex shapes and patterns.

- Dimensions: 5.625″ x 5.625″
- This book complies to ASTM and CPSIA safety requirements so it’s safe for little hands and mouths. Adult mouths not recommended.
